I have written on other blogs on previous occasions about the Democrats and their buddies in the mainstream media doing all they can to paint George W. Bush as a dunce. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have made entire careers out of it. Bill Maher is abrasively annoying about it. If the inability to speak eloquently makes you stupid, then there are a whole lot of stupid people running around who don't even know it. I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, but I have no eloquence whatsoever.

The real fact of the matter is, they don't like his policies, and his frequent verbal mishaps are easy targets to say he's just not smart enough to enact good, sound policies.

That's patently absurd. One does not climb to the highest office in the land without a keen level of intelligence. It drives me crazy to see people in my little down driving around in beat up little cars with bumper stickers that have some variation of "George Bush is an idiot" or "My dog is smarter than George Bush." Now, there's nothing wrong with not having money or driving around old cars, but it seems to me that the guy running the country did more with his stupidity than those folks did with their intelligence.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Stewart, Colbert, Maher, Franken, Olbermann, and a host of others make a living making fun of the President; my question? Who's got the last laugh? The President of the United States? Or a bunch of hack comedians?
