Ok, maybe he hasn’t actually sold the seat yet, but don’t blame him for trying! After all, it appears that he has worked hard to build a political career on all the stuff he can get for his coruption. He certainly isn’t going to give something as valuable as a Senate Seat away for free. Makes me wonder what Obama did to get that seat in the first place. Sorry, I know we shouldn’t judge Obama by his associates. We learned that in the election. Don’t worry though, I am sure there is still room under the bus for Governor Blagojevic. I haven’t heard yet, but I’m sure he can thump along right next to “Reverend” Wright, and the plethora of other “friends” that bit the dust during the campaign.
Seriously folks, when is there going to be uproar in this country over the corruption among democrats? If a republican had done this type of thing, the rage would be unfathonable. Anyone connected in any way would be targeted: what did they know, when did they know it, what part did they play, etc. But, I doubt that will be the case here. I am sure there will be no questioning of the rest of the Democrats that have benefited from this corruption.
This is another case of “Chicago Politics”, which we were told was non-existent during the campaign. I find it particularly interesting that this story was not broken until the election was over, especially considering the fact that Blagojevich has been under investigation for corruption charges since 2002. Hmmm….Presidential Democratic candidate hailing from Chicago, but huge political corruption charges centered in Chicago are not exposed until after the election. We got Joe the Plumber exposed. We got “Troopergate” exposed. And yet we learn nothing about William Ayers. We hear nothing about this scandal. We have no investigation into Obama’s Citizenship questions. Yeah, the media is not biased. No wonder something like 70% of people believed they were in the tank for Obama.
The good news for democrats is that Blagojevich’s sentence will only be about 20 years. That means that he will be available to run for president after Obama’s second term (with parole). When republicans do something illegal, they are forced out of office (as well they should be). When democrats do something illegal, they are often given a promotion…Gotta’ love the good ol’ USA.
